Beer for Beauty

Come join the fun on Saturday April 9th from 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm at Smith’s Acres (4 West Main St., Niantic) as the Niantic Main Street organization hosts their annual Beer for Beauty ~ Beer Tasting event. Not only will you have a great time connecting with friends and locals, you will also be helping raise monies for continued town-wide beautification efforts. In addition to getting to sample multiple beers, there will be a raw bar (by John Fish) filled with oysters, clams, shrimp and more available for purchase! Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door, and can be purchased at either Smith's Acres or Mermaid Liquors. The number of tickets will be limited, and this popular event is sure to be a sell-out.

9th Annual Touch-A-Truck Event

On Saturday, May 21, 2016 (rain date Sunday), the East Lyme Auxiliary of Child and Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut and the East Lyme Parks and Recreation Department will again co-sponsor the 9th annual Touch-A-Truck event. This is a family event that will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at McCook Point Park in Niantic, CT. Vehicle demonstrations will be conducted and we never know just who might make an appearance. In addition there will be face painting and craft activities for the children as well as a free photo-op. Refreshments will be available for sale.
There will be a $4.00 per person donation (ages 3 and up) to benefit the Child and Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut.

Memorial Day & Parade

The annual East Lyme Memorial Day Parade provides an opportunity for patriotic Americans to come together and honor those who have sacrificed so much in service to our country.
The parade will be held on Monday, May 30th beginning at 2:00 p.m., will begin near St. John's Green (across from the Children's Museum of Southeastern CT.), and will proceed down Niantic's Main St. ending at the East Lyme Town Hall. The parade celebrates all those who have served in uniform from the American Revolution to Operation Iraqi Freedom, and will reflect on those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

Niantic Bay 10k/run & 5k/walk Road Race

The Annual Niantic Bay 10k/run road race and 5k/walk will be held on Friday, June 10th beginning at 5:30 pm. The 10K course starts just outside McCook's Point Park entrance on Atlantic Street. This 6.2 mile race course is mostly flat with a few small hills and travels through local neighborhoods. The 5K walk is a 3.1 mile fun walk that generally starts about 15 minutes before the 10K Run. 38th Annual LobsterFest and 56th Annual Juried Arts & Craft Show

Come support the Niantic Lions Club as they once again sponsor their Annual LobsterFest and Chicken BBQ. Lobsterfest 2016 will be held on July 2nd (Saturday from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm) and July 3rd (Sunday from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm). Located on the East Lyme Town Hall grounds (Pennsylvania Ave.), this annual Niantic summer tradition is sure to kick start your summer.
In addition to the above Niantic Lions LobsterFest and Chicken BBQ, the 56th Annual Juried Arts and Craft Show will also be held at the same location, on the same dates and same times. Admission to the Arts & Crafts show is free, and over 180 vendors are expected to be at the show.Two great events, one great weekend !

Carnival on Green

Come One! Come All! In conjunction with the Celebrate East Lyme festivities, the Carnival comes to town complete with games and rides for folks of all ages along with delectable Carnival Treats. Tickets for rides and amusements may be purchased on the day(s) you attend the carnival. Sponsored by St. John's Episcopal Church, the Carnival is its largest annual fundraiser supporting community outreach programs. The Carnival on St. John's Green will take place on:

Celebrate East Lyme 2016
The 16th Annual Celebrate East Lyme Festival will be held on Saturday, July 16th. The Town of East Lyme will once again transform it's waterfront Main Street in the seaside village of Niantic into their annual Bash by the Bay filled with food, music and fun-filled activities for the entire family! Niantic's Main St. will close to vehicular traffic (beginning at 3:00 p.m.) which will then be filled by over 200 local vendors offering food from local and regional restaurants, products and services from local businesses and entertainment for everyone! Festivities include live music performances, cooking demonstrations & tastings, children's areas and so much more!

McCook's Beach Summer Concert Series

Come and enjoy music on the McCook’s Beach performed by some great local musicians on Wednesday evenings in August from 6-8 PM. Niantic Bay Triathlon

East Lyme will once again serve as host site for the 2016 Niantic Bay Triathlon. The triathlon will be held on Sunday, August 7th beginning at 07:30 a.m. and features a 1/2 mile swim, 12-mile bike, and a 3.5 mile run through scenic East Lyme with water views and shaded streets. The Niantic Bay Triathlon is a flat, sprint distance race. Come support the athletes, shop for that special gift and dine at one of our many great shoreline restaurants in town. Niantic Main Street is happy to once again sponsor their Annual Bargains by the Bay Tent and Sidewalk Sale August 11-14, 2016. Family Movie Night @ McCooks Park

The East Lyme Parks and Recreation Department will once again host "Family Movie Nights at McCook's Park" on Friday nights during the month of September. Movies will take place at the top of McCook's beginning at sunset. So bring a picnic dinner, meet your new school friends and enjoy some great movies with family and friends. No beach passes will be required. Niantic Village Halloween Parade

Come one, come all, to one of the most highly entertaining events in town ~ the annual Niantic Village Halloween Parade. The parade will take place on Sunday, October 30th, 2016 beginning at 1:00 p.m., when children are welcome to browse the downtown shops for "Tricks and Treats". This event is sponsored by the East Lyme Parks & Rec Dept. along with promotional support of the Niantic Main Street organization and the downtown Niantic local businesses who donate candy and snacks for the children.
